Livingston Parish Library is opening the doors of our Idea Lab, a place where cutting-edge technology is made available for public use, officially this month!

One-on-one sessions with a library staff member are also available.

Located at our Denham Springs-Walker Branch, the Idea Lab features:

  • + 3D printing
  • + 3D scanning
  • + Virtual Reality
  • + Sewing Machine
  • + Button Maker
  • + Cricut Explore Air
  • + AccuCut Die Cut Machine

Don’t know how to use a 3D printer or a sewing machine? Never experienced virtual reality before? No problem! Our staff are happy to show you how to use the technology available in our Idea Lab. We’ll even help you figure out how to create your first project or guide
you through virtual reality.

“The biggest benefit of building the Idea Lab, with its VR, 3D printing, or robotics, is getting technology in the hands of our patrons, who otherwise would not have access to it,” Library Director Giovanni Tairov says. “This also allows for hands-on, self-paced learning, and a deeper understanding of STEM concepts.”

Visit our new Idea Lab soon and let us help bring your idea to life. We can’t wait to see what you make!

+ Patrons interested in creating projects or learning about new technology can check out all of the lab’s services here.
