Livingston Parish Library’s Comic Con draws 2,000 visitors for second straight year

The Livingston Parish Library’s Comic Con drew more than 2,000 visitors for a day-long celebration of comic books, movies, television, video games, and all things pop culture.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Library’s Comic Con has drawn more than 2,000 visitors, showing the event’s soaring popularity among the Livingston Parish community. It was held at the Denham Springs-Walker Branch on Saturday, March 29.

Featuring numerous entertainers and activities that were free to the public, Comic Con provided family-friendly fun for people of all ages and interests.

One of the big draws was The Dinosaur Experience, a locally-owned company that allowed attendees to unleash their inner explorer and venture into a world where the past comes to life. Blending education with entertainment into one package, The Dinosaur Experience delivered a thrilling presentation for fans of all things Jurassic.

Another popular performance came from the Petite Princess Company, which provides family-friendly party entertainment across south Louisiana. The Petite Princess Company performed a special storytime before posing with fans of “Wicked” during a meet-and-greet.

Wall-to-Wall Martial Arts brought high-energy action during a martial arts demonstration that showcased powerful techniques, dynamic moves, and the discipline behind the craft.

The highlight of the day came during the popular cosplay contest, which featured around 60 contestants from a plethora of fandoms.

All-day activities included the vendors market, balloon twisting, caricature drawings, button making, tabletop games, big games, crafts, scavenger hunts, and an escape room.
