Grant Station offers nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies the opportunity to identify potential funding sources for their programs or projects as well as resources to mentor these organizations through the grant-seeking process.

Grant Station gives grant seekers the ability to find new grant opportunities, build a strong grants strategy, and write powerful proposals using step-by-step tutorials.

Available in-library; only at the Main Branch in Livingston and Denham Springs-Walker Branch.

The world's leading classical music channel, medici.tv has offered access to the best of classical music to viewers worldwide since 2008. medici.tv’s library features over 1,800 programs (3,000 original works), including:

• concerts and archived historical concerts;
• operas;
• ballets;
• documentaries, artist portraits and educational programs;
• master classes.

Click on the "Log In" button at the top right-hand corner of the page. Then, in the first block called "Which institution are you from?", search for your library (Livingston Parish Library) and you will be offered a box to login with your library card.

Scholastic Teachables

Scholastic Teachables offers unlimited access to 25,000-plus searchable and printable education materials, including lesson plans, mini-books, and activity sheets for a variety of grade levels and subjects. This new service is perfect for teachers, busy parents looking to support their child's learning, and homeschooling families.

ABCmouse for Home

The award-winning ABCmouse curriculum is designed to help young children (ages 2-8+) build a strong foundation for future academic success. ABCmouse is 100% educational, with more than 10,000 learning activities across all major subject areas: reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music—including more than 1,200 of those learning activities in Spanish. Best of all, kids just love it!

This version is available for use at home.

JobNow - Brainfuse

JobNow by Brainfuse is an all-in-one suite of services designed for a wide range of career needs: whether it’s tackling a resume, writing a cover letter, developing additional skills, or adjusting to a new career. JobNow services include expert coaching and self-study tools to empower users. Users may access live, on-demand assistance from expert Job Coaches for assistance with interview preparation, resume creation, or job searching. With JobNow, users communicate in real time in our online whiteboard by typing, drawing, and marking-up lessons and web content. Plus, users can use our secure file sharing feature in the writing lab to submit career documents to our Job Coaches any time of the day. The Brainfuse full-service test center offers practice tests for all levels in math, reading, and writing as well as college preparatory tests.

SkillMill

SkillMill offers a complete workforce training program that rapidly prepares learners with job-ready skills and certifications to access trades careers, today. Its robust database of expert tutorials are helpful for the DIY enthusiast as well. Having trouble with your air conditioner or need to fix a leaky faucet. SkillMill has a tutorial that can walk you through the process of common, and not-so-common, home repair.

In addition to online tutorials and video, SkillMill offers immersive, online 3D simulations to facilitate learning in a hands-on environment. The field-like experience helps job seekers prepare for real-world jobs and start their trades career. The on-demand courses focus on HVAC, plumbing, electrical and more. Patrons can learn at their own pace and work through any course on a tablet, computer, or in virtual reality. Users can also prep for NATE, EPA 608, and OSHA 10 certification exams or retain their certification.

This new resource is limited to twenty users at any given time. To reserve your spot, complete our SkillMill reservation form. Once submitted, the library will issue login credentials for open user spots. Patrons have six weeks to use and train with SkillMill. Once the use period has ended, patrons can complete the form again to reserve another spot.

VetNow - Brainfuse

VetNow^TM by Brainfuse provides support for our community's veterans and their families with navigating the VA bureaucracy, providing academic tutoring, and employment transition assistance.

LIVE ONLINE NAVIGATORS: VetNow Navigators are trained to help veterans and families connect with valuable benefits and resources:

• Answer questions related to  benefits eligibility
• Refer patrons to applicable community resources for housing, healthcare and education benefits
• Assist patrons with locating accredited claims agents

JOB TOOLS: Designed to help with all stages of the job hunting process, the VetNow Job Tools feature career coaching, expert resume assistance, live interview preparation, and more. With the Job Tools patrons are able to:

• Use the career resources to discover their best career fit based on education, experience,  and personality
• Search for a job with nationwide and local resources
• Download template for the most common resume types
• Receive resume and cover letter assistance from  trained experts
• Brush up on interview techniques or get live online interview practice from trained job coaches

COLLEGE SKILLS: Users build academic skills and prepare for college with VetNow's array of tools, including:

• Interaction with live tutors in a wide range of college level subjects
• Live skills  tutoring  and  an  extensive  library of lessons, video tutorials, and practice tests including SAT, ACT, TEAS, HESI,  GRE, GMAT and more
• Live or asynchronous expert analysis of writing, complete with constructive comments
• Asynchronous 24/7 help with academic questions
• Live help for language  learners
