The LPL's Computer Numerical Control (CNC) cutting and engraving machine (Carbide Nomad 883 Pro) is now available at the Idea Lab of the Denham Springs-Walker Branch.

The Carbide Nomad 883 Pro is able to cut and engrave on a wide variety of materials including hardwoods, softwoods, plastics, synthetics, and metals. Patrons are able to use the machine at no cost; however, users must supply their own material to be cut. 

The maximum dimensions the CNC cutting and engraving machine can take are 8"x8"x3". Images can be taken in any format including.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .eps, .psd, .pdf, .doc, .stl, .obj, .thing, .scad, and .svg. Patrons who need assistance converting their files into the accepted file types can contact the Idea Lab at 225-686-4148.
