The public should be aware of Livingston Parish Library services that will be affected in 2025.

Beginning on January 1, 2025, the Livingston Parish Library will deactivate access to hoopla, one of LPL’s three digital libraries that allows for the borrowing of eContent items.

For patrons who use hoopla, there is no need to cancel or delete their accounts: Starting at midnight on January 1, 2025, patrons will simply no longer be able to browse or borrow hoopla content. However, those who have borrowed items on hoopla will have access to those items for the duration of the loan period.

Beginning on January 1, 2025, Livingston Parish residents will not be able to check out the following eContent items:

  • eVideos
  • eMusic

Beginning on January 1, 2025, Livingston Parish residents will no longer have access to Kanopy, a video-streaming platform.

Beginning on January 1, 2025, the Livingston Parish Library will stop purchasing the following items:

  • Launchpads
  • Video Games

Both items will remain in the Livingston Parish Library’s collection for now, but the library will no longer replace them when they become lost or damaged. The library also will not be able to fulfill patrons’ requests for these items.

We realize these service changes may come as unfortunate news to many of our patrons, but please know that the Library remains committed to delivering high-quality, professional services while maximizing all available resources.

As always, we will continue to evaluate our funds, services, and statistics, and we will inform the public of any other changes to services that become necessary.

We thank the public for its patronage, understanding, and support of the Livingston Parish Library. It is our honor to serve the people of Livingston Parish.
