Livingston Parish Library launches new user-friendly calendar system to enhance patron experience
On Saturday, August 17, the Livingston Parish Library will officially launch LibCal, a powerful calendar technology designed to enhance patron experiences.
LibCal is a fully featured calendar and event management platform that provides the tools needed to see the who, what, when, and where for everything that the Library has going on. Whether you're booking a meeting room, registering for events, or scheduling a Book-a-Librarian session, LibCal streamlines these tasks, making your interactions with the library more efficient and user-friendly.
"This modern, user-friendly calendar system continues the Library's mission to provide all members of the community with the resources and programs necessary to fulfill their informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs," said Livingston Parish Library Director Michelle Parrish. "This new service will greatly enhance our patrons' Library experience."
Through LibCal, Livingston Parish Library patrons can:
- View the Library’s calendar of events by day, week, and month
- View events for all branches or a specific branch
- View events for a specific audience or category
- View daily hours for all branch locations and special areas, such as Idea Lab (Denham Springs-Walker Branch), Digital Media Lab (Main Branch), and public computer stations
- Register for an event
- Reserve a meeting room
- Schedule a Book-a-Librarian session
LibCal also allows patrons to add events to their iCal or Google calendar, share on their social media feeds, and more!
LibCal can be accessed directly through the Library’s website or by visiting mylpl.libcal.com.
Existing meeting room reservations and program registrations were seamlessly rolled over, meaning those used the previous system to reserve a room or registerefor a program will not be affected.
