We would like to thank everyone who attended the meeting last night. We appreciate your testimonies and passionate support of the library. We remain firm in opposition to diverting or reducing a parish-wide library millage towards the needs of one district. The library has been a responsible steward of public funds. A reduction in funding will inevitably result in a reduction or loss of services, including outreach, purchases of new books, subscriptions to electronic resources, the frequency and quality of programming, and maintenance of buildings. We believe that our community deserves the best, especially when it comes to education, literacy, and life-long learning. Thank you for your support.
