Livingston Parish Library inviting families to Cajun-themed storytime to celebrate the holidays
The Livingston Parish Library is inviting families to a holiday-themed storytime – with a Cajun twist!
Professional voice actress Shirley Tregre will delight audiences during “A Cajun Christmas Storytime,” hosted by the Livingston Parish Library, on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Storytime sessions will be held at the Main Branch (10:30 a.m.) and the Watson Branch (2 p.m.). This family-friendly program is open to all ages, and registration is required.
Tregre, who resides in Denham Springs, is a professional entertainer, a principal actress, a commercial print model, a professional voice-over actor, and a Cajun dialect coach.
During the upcoming storytime sessions, she will perform readings of “Cajun Night Before Christmas” and “Cajun Night After Christmas,” regaling audiences with these heartwarming Louisiana tales in an authentic Cajun dialect.
Along with Tregre’s performance as “Cajun Mrs. Claus,” audiences will be able to belt out some of the most popular Christmas carols and make an alligator Christmas craft to take home.
