Small Business Services

Every location of the Livingston Parish Library has computers for public use with free Internet access. These computers are FREE to use! Livingston Parish residents must present their library card in order to use a computer. Non-residents (from outside of Livingston Parish) may use a computer by presenting their driver’s license or other state-approved identification.

The library offers free Internet access via its Wi-Fi service. Patrons may bring their laptops or other mobile device to search the Internet using this service.

The library offers the Microsoft Office suite, including vital business resources such as Excel and PowerPoint.

All library locations offer copying and faxing services for your convenience.

  • Black & White printing $0.10 per page
  • Color printing $0.25 per page
  • Black & White copies $0.10 per page
  • Color copies $0.25 per page
  • Faxing $1.00 for first page; $0.25 for each additional page

Wireless printing is also available at every branch.

Small Business Programs

Own a small business or interested in starting one? Take advantage of free business consulting at the Watson and Livingston Branches. Receive private, one-hour consulting sessions in areas including business plans, advertising plans, inventory control, financial projections, cost analysis, and much more. Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce

The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to “support and facilitate the growth and expansion of Livingston Parish by providing an environment that encourages both residential and business communities working together to build a healthy economy.” The Chamber coordinates and sponsors individual business counseling, business start-up programs, incubator opportunities, business and financial planning, sales and marketing plans, social media and other courses which are pertinent to business success.

Livingston Economic Development Council

The Livingston Economic Development Council works to promote and secure capital investment in Livingston Parish to increase the tax base and provide job opportunities. The LEDC is a private, non-profit membership corporation. Their core mission is to create quality economic development for Livingston Parish, Louisiana. The LEDC works to achieve this mission in three ways:

  1. Recruit new or expanding business opportunities to the parish from outside sources.

  2. Work with existing business and industry to encourage growth and expansion.

  3. Encourage entrepreneurship and the formation of new businesses.

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center is the state’s largest and most accessible source of assistance for entrepreneurs and the only statewide nationally accredited program that provides business consulting to entrepreneurs at no cost. Through a network of 10 centers, the LSBDC provides high quality one-on-one consulting, training and information resources to help your business start, grow and succeed.

LSBDC at Southeastern Louisiana University is located in Hammond at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center. Services offered include:

Louisiana Secretary of State’s Geauxbiz.com

The Secretary of State’s Commercial Division oversees licensing, incorporating, and filing under the Uniform Commercial Code in Louisiana. Their Geauxbiz.com section is a clearinghouse for all business related information: searching their database, filing a business online, and business licensing information. Access is also available to their Administrative Services department for service of process information and UCC department.
